STAYING PRODUCTIVE IN THE HOT WEATHER

Do you feel unproductive in this heat? me too, nothing these 3 cooling tips can't fix though.



Seeing school kids go home I'm transported back in time when I used to hate school uniforms during this hot season. The way my leather shores would cling to me and I would be all sweaty underneath my pullover. The worst part was not being able to study or do any chores let alone homework.

Here are the three tips you can use to cool off and be productive.

1. Hydrate and listen to your body



  • I don't even have to say it, but drinking water even when you're not thirsty is essential to cooling your body throughout the day and it reduces fatigue. Make a lemonade or an iced tea for sweetness.  

  • Eat light meals or snacks, eating heavy meals like Kota will make you sluggish, and it will have you in an instant food coma

  • Don't overwork yourself take mini breaks and use a breathing exercise.

2. Plan the day ahead



  • It's no surprise but planning your day will allow you to wake up early, to tackle high-energy tasks, anywhere before 10am.

  • At 6pm after dinner when it is cooler you can go for a light walk which can help you both digest your food and put in the daily steps goals. 

  • Sometimes the heat can be unbearable even at night, to stay cool take a relaxing bath and sleep with less clothing

3. Optimize your environment



  • The flies have been a nuisance lately the buggers started to bite too! so please clean and declutter your space, and open the windows and doors to let in the fresh air and natural breeze.

  • Use a fan to cool off, for a cheaper option set up your working station outside, find a shaded area, and make good use of the breeze.

BONUS TIP:  Take a vaskom and fill it up with water however much you want, sit down, and put your feet in there I promise you this is effective, you will cool down and enjoy whatever you are doing. This is my personal favorite, I used to do this while I studied outside.

We all want to feel like we achieved something by the end of the day, however, things like this heat can make us lose motivation, making use of these tips can help us stay consistent.
