It's that time of year when seeds scatter, ready for new homes. It's a season of acceptance, because what follows is a new beginning. August feels like a season of relief, proof of Spring.. In the south, August is windy, and dusty too; it turns the sky a soft, thick orange, the kind you watch from behind a window rather than step into. So locked in I didn’t get to celebrate my birthday. Two months have passed and it's safe to say I survived. Here's how you can also survive those first weeks of a new job . 1. Do what you know. Your skills and knowledge got you the job, it's time to follow instructions and do your work accordingly.  Always ask if you're confused, it's better to look slow that incompetent. 2.  Plan the days ahead .
