Self-Sabotage: A Girl Stuck By Her Own Doing

Image
Often times I get paralyzed by my own fear, fear of success, fear of losing the comfort and fear of risks. I start a project and have it all layered out but when it comes to execution, I'm suddenly thrown into self-sabotage, the "what ifs". What if no one supports me. What if I fail. What if its not perfect. Here is my personal favorite, quite unusual too. What if I succeed too much that I become detached. I'm not saying it's my personal favorite because I have accepted that I do not want to succeed. No. I say that because attachment to me is addition. What if I become too obsessed with making money?  Oh my God I'm laughing at that last line as I type this. My mom today, 16th June asked me probably for the 10th time what do I want to do. I sat there tea in my hand grinning like an idiot while also praying for her to change the subject, so I said to her I wanna make money. She said "you have the tools what's stopping you?" Simple Vanilla Muffins

Like the wise lyrics of Tony Braxton's song,  "First thing on a Monday morning, I'm gonna pack my tears away".

Pack them and hide the sack at the back othe closet sis. It's Monday, and it's a new day.

More than a few things, I love me a new day. And the best way for me to have an entirely amazing day is doing something therapeutic, one of those things is baking simple recipes and feeding my family.

I have realized that keeping things simple always helps me to have a calm morning, especially when I'm with Shiloh(my niece) for most of the mornings.

Today I decided to make vanilla muffins first thing after dropping her at Glammy's bedroom.

Why Vanilla Muffins?

I'm a whim-kinda person even if I plan my day, and muffins make sense they don't take too long to make. They are perfect for easy breakfast and to answer the question I made them just because.

What I used for ingredients

  • 1 cup of warm milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups of brown sugar
  • 1 Tspns of Vanilla
  • 0.5 cup of vegetable oil
  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • 2 Tspns of baking powder

How I made theses easy  Vanilla Muffins
  • Pre-heat oven at 200°C  five minutes prior
  • Mix the ingredients how they are listed(no separate bowls)
  • See consistency
  • Bake for twenty minutes.
  • After baking, let cool then serve!
  • The batter makes 12 muffins.

This process takes less than 40 minutes, so how much of a relive is it to know this simple recipe when you're also in a rush. A delight!

Share favorite morning baking recipes in the comments or on IG @before30diaries so that, I can also try them ;)
