How To Rest: Becoming A Rested Generation

When was the last time you truly rested?

Resting is not just sleeping—it's about being intentional with your personal time. It's about doing what you love without feeling guilty or under pressure to be productive.

The productivity culture has become toxic, creating a voice inside your head saying, "get up and do something," even to our own exhaustion. But it is okay to relax.

Here is how to truly rest:

A. Have a healthg schedule

Productivity emphasizes getting more work done in less time. A healthy schedule will allow you to step away, recharge, and return stronger.

B. Get a hobby

Pick a hobby that makes you feel content with life. It could be sport or being creative. My me-time is a non-negotiable, this, I will fight my family for (lol, they know it) I could do a lot, sleep in, or binge-watch Adam Sandler movies, the possibilities are endles

C. Be present

Resting creates an emotional, physical, and spiritual reset. Small habits like journaling, praying, or being grateful enhance rest.
Psalms 23:2-3 says, He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. I like to let this scripture guide me. The point? Be intentional with your stillness.

It is time to reconnect with yourself because well-rested people are kinder to themselves, are better company, make wiser decisions, are healthier and are more in tune with God.

Leave me a comment on how you intend to take a rest.
